Odense can offer you a lot of cultural experiences. There are many museums, shops and cafés.

The house and museum of Hans Christian Andersen 
This museum is dedicated the fairytale writer. Beside the museum, which tells about his life, the museum consist a library with Danish and foreign editions of his work and a collection of illustrations and other artwork inspired of his stories.

Carl Nielsen Museum
The museum gives at detailed, chronological picture of Carl Nielsen’s life and work and his wife the sculptor Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen. The exhibition also contains records of the music of Carl Nielsen.

The Danish Railway Museum
The largest Railway museum in Scandinavia is placed in Odense. You can experience the 150 year old story of the railway and the ferries in authentic surroundings. The museum has more than 10,000 square metres of carriages and locomotives, buses, model ferries, model railway tracks, mini-trains and play area.

Odense Zoo
Odense Zoo covers more than 78000 square metres. The Zoo is divided in the seven continents. You can spend a day in the Zoo and experience animals from all over the world.
